Residential workshop:  April 29 – May 5, 2018

Develop confidence with oil paint and its unique attributes of luminosity, depth of color, and longevity, and delight in oil’s expressive power to build atmospheric landscapes, still still life studies. Learn to best practices to take advantage of oils unique attributes developed by masters.

We’ll cover pigments, mediums, varnish, sizing, and grounds; prepare supports using natural gesso on panel and paper; and discuss best uses of canvas or linen. From sketching with your brush to finished paintings, daily painting  demos will complement studio and outdoor painting. All levels welcome. If you are already painting in oils, bring what you use. We will provide supply check-list upon registration.
