JMK Studio236 is the active studio, teaching, and workshop site for artist John Mac Kah in the historic Riverview Station, River Arts District of Asheville, NC. A working artist since art school, he teaches from his studio and in workshops nationwide. Classes and workshops in drawing, traditional oils, acrylics.

Studio is open BY APPOINTMENT. Please give me a heads up – we are happy to have visitors. We are here daily, but class may be in session or we may be out of town.
COVID19 For Riverview Station requires that all visitors and artists wear masks.
New Students Welcome! Private drawing and painting lessons for 3 hours; mask required, social distancing. Our usual hours are 10-6pm, Mon-Sat; Thurs 5-9pm.
New! We now have secured 450 square feet in the next door studio for safe teaching during the pandemic. Masks are required in our building until Buncombe County and the City of Asheville withdraw their mandate.

North entrance: Turn on to OLD LYMAN from Riverside Drive (right if you are going north; left if from the south); pass Mountain Glassworks, turn right at the Summit Coffee house. 12 Bones is to your right, take the first right. Look for two big round windows.
South entrance (front of the building facing Riverside Drive. Park in the front lot of Riverview Station near Yuzu Patisserie. Take the stairs to the left of their front door. Walk toward the back of the building; Look for signs to JMK Studio 236. Alternately, go through an open alley on the ground floor and look for the stairs and round windows above.
Come up these stairs, first or second door, on right.
